- Since you are all veteran classroom instructors, but differentiate in grade levels, I have attached a reminder of the duties required for each person depending on which role you are assigned (Figure 1). While I know that you have all taught literature circles in a traditional setting, I do not know the method of your implementation of this process. I also am not aware of the role sheets you used to meet the needs of your diverse populations. However, I want you to recall your background and experience to help guide you through your assigned role and do not be afraid to explore or go above and beyond what is asked. Before the course began, you were asked to complete a survey indicating your experience using technology such as message board discussions (asynchronous) and chat rooms (synchronous). The groups have been randomly assigned without consideration of Internet skills, due to the fact that the prerequisite for this course required you to complete a basic course using more than novice skills. However, if you are struggling with your responsibilities or would like assistance individually or with your group before you begin, you can contact the instructor or message group members for feedback and ideas. Additionally, the tutorial on the left gives an explanation of some of the guidelines and rules for working in a group online if you wish to use for this lesson, or to incorporate it into your own classroom. The video on the right is a reminder about the credibility of sources found which can be used as a refresher before you begin.
